Specialising in reinforced concrete corrosion detection, SciCorr required a reliable yet cost effective electronics enclosure design for their high-tech rust detection system.

From a shortlist of 6 companies, SciCorr approached 4D after discovering our website during online research for a product design company. 4D was a perfect fit to SciCorr’s specification that the chosen company must be big enough to handle the project, yet small enough for SciCorr to remain an important part of the process.

Our Product Design Director, James Bell, worked closely with SciCorr to help them understand the importance of a well-designed and reliable case; as the electronics inside were especially delicate, the protection and quality of the case was essential.

Although SciCorr had developed a prototype, it was only proof of concept to show that the process worked. The enclosure proved flimsy and would not withstand the conditions of a construction site; therefore James embarked on an in-depth project to ruggedise the casing and protect the contents inside.

Going above and beyond the role, 4D managed the entire process; from specifying the project, to co-ordinating manufacture.

4D created an effective and attractive solution, something that SciCorr were extremely pleased with. However, something they felt was even more impressive than the design was the level of service experienced throughout the entire process.
