Utilivista approached 4D Products with a requirement to design a rugged, cost-effective custom enclosure to house their innovative remote monitoring system. IP 67 and ATEX protection were a must.

The Background
Concept Design
Working closely with Utilivista, our product design team initially presented a broad range of design concepts for consideration.
3D CAD Design
Once a preferred concept was selected, our 3D CAD designers created a detailed assembly, which included internal electronic components developed by the client.
Sealing of the various different components and cable entries was key to success. A section of the internals is potted in production for exceptional water resistance. This required zoning of the internal compartments.
Prototype & Test
We supplied an initial 3D prototype, which to the delight of our client, worked correctly first time. Following our success with the prototype, we supplied 20 pre-production sets of plastics, along with photo realistic visuals.

The Result
4D Products supported the project from initial concept sketch up to liaison with the manufacturers. Utilivista have used the enclosure design to build a comprehensive remote monitoring offering covering a wide range of industrial situations.
