Innovative breast cancer scanning device

A sleek, non-intrusive desktop device that delivers a BI-RADS breast density score in just one minute.
It features a handheld measuring Caliper and a convenient desktop docking station, designed to blend
seamlessly into any environment.

The Challenge:

Develop an exterior docking station and an internal Faraday shield to securely house an electronics
assembly. The product must comply with EN 60601 standards to facilitate clinical trials.

The Process:

Gain a thorough understanding of user and patient requirements. Research EN 60601 standards to
define the design specifications. Collaborate with the client to create a range of conceptual solutions.
Develop a series of working prototypes and iterations using low-volume manufacturing techniques,
ensuring they are suitable for testing within 12 weeks.

The Result:

A set of functional and standards compliant, working samples ready for clinical trials in NHS hospitals.
