Background

4D Products were approached by private inventor Subina Shami to assist with the development of an automated pressure cooker she had been working on. 4D were responsible for creating a conceptual vision for the product which required a particular focus on the method of ingredient deployment. We worked alongside our clients patent attorney to protect the innovative features developed.

Concept Development

CAD Development

With a preferred concept design chosen, we developed a detailed 3D model of the product. This was broken down into stages to allow us to test critical aspects of the product sequentially to maximise the efficiency of the process. As prototypes were tested, the design was iterated keeping track of the changes to allow us to validate the modifications that were made.

Prototype Development and Testing 

A variety of prototyping methods were used to test each of the component parts, using a network of suppliers both in the UK and China. Particular expertise were required for certain custom parts such as the cooking bowl, and flexible ingredients pods. 4D worked alongside our partner electronics company to develop a fully functional prototype featuring a sophisticated electronics user interface allowing the recipe programmes to be customized.

Marketing Support 

With a working prototype produced, 4D Products created a package of marketing materials including photorealistic renders and animations which our client could then use to promote the product to potential licensees and brands.
