Utilivista approached 4D Products with a requirement to design a rugged, cost-effective custom enclosure to house their innovative remote monitoring system. IP 67 and ATEX protection were a must.
The Challenge:
Working closely with Utilivista, our product design team initially presented a broad range of design concepts for consideration.
The Process:
Once a preferred concept was selected, our 3D CAD designers created a detailed assembly, which included internal electronic components developed by the client.
Sealing of the various different components and cable entries was key to success. A section of the internals is potted in production for exceptional water resistance. This required zoning of the internal compartments.
The Result:
We supplied an initial 3D prototype, which to the delight of our client, worked correctly first time. Following our success with the prototype, we supplied 20 pre-production sets of plastics, along with photo realistic visuals.
